Kathy MacMillan (she/her) is an award-winning writer, nationally certified American Sign Language interpreter, librarian, editor, and signing storyteller. She has published more than two dozen books for children, teens, and adults, including picture books, novels, and nonfiction. Her debut novel, Sword and Verse, was a finalist for the Compton Crook Award, and her recent nonfiction book, She Spoke Too, was named Foreword INDIES Best Juvenile Nonfiction Book of the Year. She is a past Regional Advisor for the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, and currently serves as Editorial Manager at Bushel & Peck Books. Kathy lives in Baltimore, MD with two cats who have yet to agree to becoming her familiars. (But she still holds out hope!) Find her online at KathyMacMillan.com.
